Neon Roller Derby: Starlight Mall

Team Lead | Pitch Process, Alternative Controller, Exhibit Production

Work your way through the Starlight Mall as you prepare for your 80's dance off. Avoid obstacles, collect your party supplies and get through as fast as you can!

Neon Roller Derby: Starlight Mall (aka NRDS) is a project that was pitched to faculty for the FUSE 2026 event and selected. Throughout a 10-week timespan, my team of 9 had the responsibility to create a 90 second experience from start to finish. This pitch process was one of the most memorable I have ever had the pleasure of pulling off for the creativity of my team.
This game utilizes the use of a dance pad, a 4-8 directional arrow pad commonly found in games such as Dance Dance Revolution. My team and I wanted to bring not just an experience to the FUSE exhibit, but something unique to also experiment with.
A lot of my team was inexperienced in their fields, ranging from freshman cohort to learning how to do 3D modeling in the span of a week. I had the pleasure of working with such a creative and determinded team who despite many modes of conflict perservered and provided a unique and never before seen alternative controller game to the FUSE exhibit.
